About us
Steven and Cindy Leapley are the husband-and-wife team behind Happy Trails Farm, blending faith, family, and farming to cultivate a life of purpose and simplicity.
At Happy Trails Farm, we’re a family-run homestead rooted in faith, stewardship, and simplicity. Nestled in the heart of North County San Diego, we’re passionate about bringing good food to your table and good values to your life.
From raw milk and fresh eggs to hands-on farm school experiences for children, everything we do reflects our love for the land and commitment to building a healthier, more connected community.
This farm is more than just a place—it’s a promise: to grow with purpose, live with joy, and share the journey.
A few things we’re great at
At Happy Trails Farm, we believe kids learn best by doing. That’s why our programs are rooted in real work, real care, and real connection—with animals, land, and each other.
Every day on the farm is an opportunity to grow a little stronger, a little wiser, and a whole lot more grounded.

Integrating Animals
At Happy Trails Farm, all our animals—from cows and pigs to chickens, quail, and even peacocks—live in harmony as part of one big, working ecosystem. Each animal plays a role in teaching kids about care, responsibility, and the rhythms of farm life. It’s a hands-on, all-species welcome kind of classroom.

Animal Husbandry
Our approach to animal husbandry is hands-on, respectful, and deeply intentional. Students learn how to care for a variety of animals—understanding their unique needs, daily routines, and the vital role they play in a healthy, balanced farm. It’s more than feeding and cleaning—it’s about stewardship, connection, and life lessons from hoof to feather

Hands-On Homesteading
From milking cows to planting seeds and building chicken coops, we teach practical farm skills that empower kids (and adults) to get their hands dirty, think creatively, and build confidence through real work with real results.
Farm School
Where Dirt Meets Discovery — Farm School the Way It Should Be.
Our Farm School is a hands-on, boots-in-the-mud experience where kids learn by doing.
From feeding animals and planting seeds to building projects and harvesting food, every session teaches real skills rooted in responsibility, creativity, and connection to the land.
It’s education outside the classroom — and it sticks.
Community Dinners & Gatherings
Where Good Food Meets Even Better Company.
Our community dinners and seasonal gatherings are a time to slow down, share a meal, and enjoy the simple gift of connection.
From farm-to-table spreads to campfire conversations, these events nourish more than just your stomach—they feed the soul.
Each gathering is a celebration of faith, family, and fellowship.
We do have exclusive gatherings for our PMA. Reach out if you are interested.
